3 Ways to Celebrate Spring in Southern Oklahoma
Spring is in the air. As I’m typing this blog post, I’m itching to get outdoors and soak up a few rays of sunshine. Since I can’t get outdoors right away, I’m compiling a short, to-do list to celebrate the season that are all within driving distance of southern Oklahoma.
Pick Your Own Flowers
Like the majority of women, I’m a huge fan of flowers. I love giving flowers, receiving flowers and even growing them at the cottage. There is something nostalgic about flowers, particularly tulips for me. I remember planting tulips in late September as a kid and watching them bloom in early spring.
I still plant these colorful flowers each year, but there are a few “pick-your-own” tulip farms that have a large variety of tulips. I hate to say that I’ve never actually been, but I’m making a point to change that this year.

Get Inspired at Vintage Market Days
Vintage Market Days usually pops up around twice a year around fall and spring in either Denton, Texas or Oklahoma City. Vintage Market Days is a nice blend between flea market and home décor shop.
Rows and rows of booths are filled with one-of-a-kind vintage pieces and homemade items. I always leave feeling inspired and a car-load full of goodies to transition my home from winter to spring.

Shop Local at the Farmer’s Market
It’s impossible to talk about spring without mentioning farmer’s markets. Ardmore has a small farmer’s market downtown on Saturdays, selling everything from baked goods to fresh produce. I am anxiously awaiting the announcement that it’s open again.

There are so many spring activities to choose from this season. What are you looking forward to this spring? Let me know.
